Dr. William R. Mealer
Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery

William R. Mealer graduated with very high honors from the University of Texas in Austin.

His Medical Education was obtained at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Dr. Mealer did an internship at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington D.C. and did an integrated general surgery residency in Phoenix, Arizona.

Starting in 1975, Dr. Mealer completed four years of Head and Neck Surgery residency at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine. Dr. Mealer also did a residency in Plastic Surgery and Microsurgery at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine in 1982-1984. Dr. Mealer has a dual American Medical Association Board certification in Otolaryngology (1979) as well as in Plastic Surgery (1985).

Dr. Mealer's memberships include the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) and the International Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS). Currently, Dr. Mealer is an Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery at the University of California at San Diego School of Medicine. He is a Physician Director of the University of California at San Diego's cleft palate/facial reconstruction international programs interface and "YO QUIERO EO SERA COMO TU" in Baja, Mexico. Since 1982, Dr. Mealer has organized many fund raising events in California and Mexico to provide cost free congenital deformity plastic surgery for needy children in Latin America. Dr. Mealer remains strongly committed to helping less fortunate children through such organizations as the Mexican Red Cross, Rotary International and various state governments in Mexico
